Title: A Wife’s Prayer
Author: Pamela Hines
Publisher: Whitaker House
Genre: Inspirational non-fiction
ISBN: 978-0-88368-204-3
A Wife’s Prayer focuses on women and the manner in which they pray about their husbands. Don’t worry because
you read that correctly. Yes, this book is about prayer for our husbands. It’s not a matter of praying about our
mates, but praying for them.
I found this book’s introductory pages interesting and intriguing. I read about miracles, about faith renewed, the
rebirth of hope, and the return of inner strength for the women who spoke with God in those opening pages. The
prayers that follow the introductions are designed for today’s contemporary Christian women, but they also possess
the power and simplicity of the past. One must read the introductions in A Wife’s Prayer to fully understand the
prayers within the book’s pages.
Written in an easy-to-read style that is also eloquent, A Wife’s Prayer is certainly a must-have for today’s ladies
who struggle to cope with their husbands—husbands, who have left the fold, are struggling with inner turmoil,
dealing with despair and/or depression, and any other numerous problems that we face nowadays. However, this
isn’t only about husbands; this book also addresses us as wives, revealing prayers that help women find their inner
strengths, refreshing our faith, and reminding us to always look to God for guidance.
Over the years, prayer books seem to have slowly faded away, but with A Wife’s Prayer, I won’t be surprised to
see more of such books populating the bookshelves of today’s homes.
